The Pharmacy Program - University of Veterinary & Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno

IMS offer you a Pharmacy Program at the University of Veterinary & Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno (UVPS Brno).  This is a 5 year (10 semesters) programme taught exclusively in English. This programme is intended for high school graduates who fulfill the minimum requirements. Graduates of this programme receive a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from this accredited EU University.

Master the pharmaceutical profession

This programme has a limited amount of openings to foreign candidates. From start to finish, the university gives graduates the necessary experience to enter the pharmaceutical profession with confidence.

During the first two years of study, students broaden their knowledge in natural and medical courses by attending lectures and seminars and by participating in pharmacy internships.

Doctor of Pharmacy degree

During the following years, students work on their thesis and graduate with a Master’s degree (Mgr.) upon passing a final state examination. Graduates awarded a Master's degree need to complete an additional state exam and an advanced thesis in order to receive a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.

To study the Pharmacy Program at the University of Veterinary & Pharmaceutical Sciences Brno (UVPS Brno) you must meet the following requirements:

1) A high school certificate (a notarized copy).

2) A passing grade on the biology and chemistry entrance exam.

3) Submission of the online application form with fees paid by deadline.

For students who already hold a BSc and passed the biology and chemistry entrance exam, the University Board of Admissions will decide as to what year to place the student based on the curriculum learned during their high school and Bachelor(s) degrees.

The Faculty of Pharmacy is a member of the Association of European Faculties of Pharmacy. Graduates meet all the requirements for the profession as defined by the European Union in the directive 2005/36/EC which states that graduates can practice Pharmacy in all member EU member states.

The Faculty closely cooperates with the industry and runs a Pharmacy on the premises. It cooperates with private and public pharmacies (in the country where students conduct their placements) and also with the Chamber of Pharmacists and the Association of Pharmacy owners.
